The Administrative Court of Sofia-City repealed a decision by a Deputy Prosecutor General at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office, which denied access to public information.

 

The information request asked about the number and content of case files and pre-trial proceedings documents overseen by the Special Prosecutor responsible for investigating the Prosecutor General, as well as the final act issued in each case and proceeding.

 

The court assumed that the requested information is public under the Access to Public Information Act, it is available within the Prosecutor's Office, and there is no legal basis for denying access. The decision is final.
