Meeting in Tirana on the "Police and Media - Access to Information" Project

This meeting was part of the project on "Police and Media - Access To Information", financed by COLPI, Budapest. The goal of a series of meeting in Bulgaria and Albania is to identify the problems the media face when trying to receive information from the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and also to establish rules guiding their relationships when receiving and presenting information.

Delegates from the Ministries of Interior Affairs and numerous interested NGO's from both countries took part in the business meeting. The Parliament speaker and the Minister of Interior Affairs represented the Albanian side. AIP was represented by their Chairperson, Gergana Jouleva and Aleksander Kashumov, who read a lecture about "LEGAL FOUNDATIONS FOR THE ACCES TO INFORMATION AND THE MINISTRY OF Interior AFFAIRS IN BULGARIA".

Gent Ibrahim explained the law, regulating the access to public information, which is already in effect in Albania. Engies Hisi, the President of the Albanian "Center for Public Relationships" and Alexander Botev, Nina Stefanowa, and Nedyalko Petkov, officials in the "Presscenter and Public Relationships Office" in Bulgaria shared ther experience in their contacts with the public media.
