Preparatory Documents

One of the restrictions to the right of access to information is related to the so called preparatory documents stipulated by Art. 13, Para. 2, Item 1 of the Access to Public Information Act.


According to the purview of the law, access to administrative public information may be restricted, if it:
"... relates to the preparatory work of an act of the bodies, and has no significance in itself (opinions and recommendations prepared by or for the body, reports and consultations);"


Pursuant to the APIA, this restrictions expires 2 years after the generation of the information which is subject to protection.
