Personal Data

The Access to Public Information Act (APIA) provides for exemption to the right of access to information with the purpose of protecting another fundamental right – personal data protection. Such data are the address of a physical person, their ethnic belonging, health condition, property and assets ownership, and all type of information that makes them identifiable.

The APIA establishes the obligation for the institutions to provide partial access to public information after blanking personal data if contained in the requested documents.

More information is available in the section Personal Data where we have published respective legal documents and comments of specific cases related to the protection of personal data and private life.
