The Executive Environment Agency should answer this question after the final court decision in October 2017 repealed the Agency’s refusal.
The data was requested in March 2017 by the environmental association For the Earth – Access to Justice, as part of the national clean air campaign, run in partnership with Greenpeace – Bulgaria.
The refusal of the Director of the Executive Environment Agency to provide access to the data was challenged before the Administrative Court Sofia – city with the assistance of the Access to Information Programme.
The court ruled in a decision as of August 1, 2017 that the requested data was environmental information and was unlawfully refused.
Later, with a Ruling as of October 16, 2017 the Supreme Administrative Court left without consideration the appeal of the Agency upholding the decision of the first court that had repealed the refusal. More about the court judgment on AIP web site in Bulgarian.
The environmental association For the Earth – Access to Justice and Greenpeace – Bulgaria were recognized for their quest for access to the data about the quality of the air in Sofia with the Golden Key Award at the 15th Right to Know Day Awards Ceremony.
