By decision no. 6434 of 24 October 2013 on administrative case no. 4829/2013 the Administrative Court – Sofia City repealed a refusal by the director of the Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority state-owned enterprise to provide information on the business trips of the managerial staff of the company in 2012. The court held that the state-owned enterprise is a legal entity (company), which by virtue of law carries out state functions in the provision of air navigation services in the civil airspace of the Republic of Bulgaria, therefore it is a subject obliged to provide information under the APIA as a body, subject to public law within the meaning of Article 3, Para. 2, item 1 of the APIA.
The case was initiated after a request of the journalist Svetla Vassileva from Duma Daily and was assisted by AIP.
